Greetings Friend,
This week we come to the grand finale of the Book of Luke! Last week we read the story of the suffering Savior who came to give His life for the redemption of many. The religious crew finally got the opportunity they were hoping for; the arrest, trial, and false conviction of the teacher from Galilee – Jesus of Nazareth. We saw how they lied before Pontius Pilate and King Herod, twisting Jesus’s words to the point they were unrecognizable, all so they could rid themselves of this powerful Miracle Worker. They wore Pontius Pilate down to the point where he conceded to the crucifixion of Jesus. They had Him beat beyond recognition, they nailed Him to a cross until he was dead, and two of His secret followers were permitted to bury him in a tomb next to Calvary. Jesus didn’t stay dead and won’t stay gone! Teleostai means “It is finished.” And that’s exactly what the world and the disciples believed. But the word carries another meaning to it, as well. “IT IS ACCOMPLISHED.” Wait! What? What is accomplished? Is there more to this story? Come live the wildest 3-days of human history this Sunday at Restored Community Church. The story’s not over! In fact, it’s just getting started!
